Gov. Alhaji Yahaha Bello Reacts to Kogi By-Elecetion

KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE PRESS RELEASE
The Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has congratulated the winner of the just concluded bye-election for Lokoja/Kogi Koton Karfe Federal Constituency, Alh. Haruna Isah.
According to His Excellency, the victory at the Bye-Election shows that the people have pitched their tent with the All Progressives Congress to correct the effects of the years of profligacy that the former governments were known for.
The Governor charges the Honorable Member of House of Representatives-elect to remember that the people who chose to vote for him did so believing that he will represent their interest at the National Assembly. Therefore he must do and be seen to do everything within legal ambit to ensure the interests of his constituency is promoted always.
Governor Bello extends his goodwill message to the winners of the bye-elections in Bauchi South Senatorial District and Katsina North Senatorial District, Alh Lawal Yahaya Gumau and Alh Ahmad Baba Kaita respectively.
The Governor also uses this medium to congratulate the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and all leaders of the APC for the successes recorded at the bye-elections to the Senate and House of Representatives in Bauchi, Katsina and Kogi. Adding that it is a testament of the confidence people have in the integrity and leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Governor Bello thanks the good people of Lokoja/Kogi Koton Karfe for their orderly conduct during the elections even though there was violence in a polling unit which led to the demise of an APC supporter. His Excellency commiserates with the family of the deceased and assures that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
Finally, Governor Bello thanks the electorates for keeping faith with his administration and the party. He reiterates his commitment to continue to build a safe, secure and prosperous Kogi State for all. He adds that “soon, very soon, our challenges as a state will be over and we will all chant victory songs”
